municipality located in the northern
Mexican state of
Coahuila. It is located at the southwestern part of the state near the
Durango state border, in the economic region known as

Parras de la Fuente.
It is located 200km from the state capital,

The city, which serves as municipal seat of the municipality, had a 2005 census population of 30,084, while the municipality had a total population of 51,528.
